It has been claimed that Harry and Meghan’s visit to England turned into a disaster before it even started, due to a crisis of the couple’s own making. It is believed that even the Sussexes’ offer to use the royal residence was not accepted. A source told Daily Mail: “For the sake of family harmony, the Palace would have been perfectly happy with a peaceful, low-key visit. But yet they turned it into a soap opera. It’s tiring.”

The newspaper also cited Meghan and Harry’s statement that the prince was considering leaving his wife and children in California due to security arrangements. A source told The Guardian: “Plans to see the family… and visit charity causes close to the Duke’s heart were swept away from under him at 11pm. He is looking at every option to get the family here safely.”
