Egg Firms Shell Out $3.3M, 53M Eggs in Price-Fixing Settlement

The Justice Department and 17 states reached a settlement with the nation’s three largest egg producers over price-fixing allegations. The government says egg companies illegally colluded for years to raise prices, including in 2025 when costs reached record levels. Neither company admitted wrongdoing but agreed to pay $3.3 million and donate 53 million eggs to settle the states’ claims.
