PlayStation will end physical disc production for new games in 2028

PlayStation will soon discontinue physical disc production for all new games released on its consoles, the company announced Wednesday morning.

The move is a “natural direction” as consumers’ preferences for digital gaming are “significantly outpacing physical discs,” the company wrote in a statement. blog postHe added that the decision will have no impact on disc games released before 2028.
