Wimbledon 2026 results: Nick Kyrgios swears at umpire before losing on return in doubles with Alexander Bublik

Nick Kyrgios swore at the referee and said he didn’t care if he was fined as his return to Wimbledon ended with defeat in the men’s doubles.
The Australian was playing his first match at the All England Club since losing the 2022 final to Novak Djokovic, who has been injured in recent years.
The 31-year-old, who is ranked 899th in the current world rankings, was not offered a wild card for the singles competition.
Accompanying Alexander Bublik in doubles, the duo lost to sixth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic 6-3 6-4.
The incident occurred after Kyrgios broke his serve at the beginning of the second set.
French referee Manuel Absolu spoke to Kyrgios, who used an expletive-containing expression: “To be honest, at this point you can penalize me, frankly I don’t even care.
“You can fine me. These rules are all stupid anyway.”
Kyrgios has been fined three times in the 2022 tournament, totaling £14,500.
Two of these incidents were for swearing and the other was for spitting towards the audience.
Kyrgios, who has suffered knee and ankle injuries in recent years, achieved his first ATP Tour win since March 2025 at the Stuttgart Open in June.
