So Haaland’s NOT perfect! England’s World Cup quarter-final foe stars in hilarious advert alongside his dad

Erling Haaland showed his playful side once again in the new commercial featuring his father Alf-Inge ahead of Norway’s World Cup quarter-final against England.

The 25-year-old, who joked yesterday about the media attention he has received this week, is the face of Budweiser’s World Cup promotional campaign.

Haaland, who appeared with former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in a funny video before the tournament, this time it is Haaland’s retired football father’s turn to test his acting skills.

The video begins with a shot of a denim shirt, then moves to Haaland’s face as Alf-Inge describes it: ‘What a beautiful thing. A machine that always delivers. He is precise, reliable and makes people happy, especially after a goal or two. “This is really perfect.”

Trying to hold back her laughter, Haaland replies, “Thanks, dad,” before her father quickly interjects: “No, that’s what I was talking about” — a pint of Budweiser.

The ad was made on behalf of both Budweiser and beer keg-making company Perfect Draft to celebrate the launch of Let It Pour.

Erling Haaland starred in a new Budweiser commercial featuring his father ahead of Norway’s World Cup quarter-final against England.

Playing in his first World Cup, Haaland has enjoyed a superb tournament and is preparing for a big clash with England in Miami on Saturday.

The Vikings had never won a knockout game in a major tournament before this summer, but have beaten Ivory Coast and Brazil so far on their way to the quarter-finals.

In the night he described as the ‘biggest night in the history of Norwegian football’, Manchester City’s forward scored two goals against the Selecao at the last moment and knocked out Neymar Jr, Casemiro and Co.

In the first, in the 79th minute, the 1.80m forward nodded as he dived over his old foe Gabriel Magalhaes, and just over 10 minutes later he fired a shot from distance past Alisson Becker.

Speaking later, the Manchester City star said enthusiastically: ‘Brazil is a football country. They’re probably the first football country you’ll learn about, with all the legendary players who played there, their jerseys, their country, their passion and their wonders. Playing against Brazil is a bit unrealistic.

‘It still seems unreal, like it’s something far away. I never thought this could happen, which makes the fact that we managed to beat Brazil even more surreal for me. It was incredible. ‘I need to relax and get some sleep because I’m completely tired.’

The Norwegians were given the opportunity to go out and celebrate the victory by coach Stale Solbakken, but it later became clear that they had suffered a bout of illness.

The Scandinavians have traveled thousands of kilometers since landing in North America last month.

Haaland scored twice to help Norway beat the Brazilians 2-1 and celebrated in the stands with his girlfriend afterwards.

After starting their campaign in Boston, they flew to New Jersey, then flew back to Boston, and then went to Dallas. Meanwhile, the last 16 match against Brazil was played in New Jersey.

And according to Norwegian publication Dagbladet, all this jet-setting has taken its toll on the team.

Crystal Palace forward Jorgen Strand Larsen missed the opening match of the tournament due to illness, while Marcus Holmgren Pedersen could not play in the match against Brazil due to an error.

Coach Solbakken was seen coughing violently at the press conference he held after Norway’s 4-1 defeat against France.

Goalkeeper Orjan Nyland later confirmed reports of illness in camp and claimed the team doctor was ‘very busy’.

‘I can confirm that this is true. “We had problems,” Nyland said on James Corden’s Fox show.

“We are doing the best we can and the team doctor is very busy at the moment.”

‘I have no idea. We had some time off, so maybe someone caught something during that leave. I hope everything goes well and we will face England on Saturday with a fully rested squad.’

But the Vikings will need to be on top of their game against a Three Lions side brimming with confidence after their 3-2 win over Mexico on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel’s squad are set to face a number of injury doubts, but Reece James’s return to training this week has given the German a boost.

The 26-year-old player, who missed the last three games due to injury, is expected to be included in the Hard Rock Stadium squad.

England lost right-back Jarell Quansah to a two-match suspension following his red card against Mexico, while Tino Livramento was also sent home before the start of the tournament with a calf injury.

Djed Spence looked likely to enter the last-eight tie after recovering from a minor knock that kept him out of the starting 11 in Mexico. James’ condition will now be monitored.

Meanwhile, Declan Rice is expected to be fine for Norway as he continues to struggle with hamstring and back pain. Defenseman Marc Guehi is also managing muscle fatigue.
