SRM University-AP Bags ₹13.71-Cr Research Grants

vijayawada: Twenty-six faculty members of SRM University-AP, Amaravati have received competitive research grants from leading national funding agencies, including Ministry of Science and Technology, Anusandhan National Research Foundation, Indian Council of Medical Research and National Board of Higher Mathematics.

The grants enabled the university to secure 24 sponsored research and consultancy projects worth ₹13.71 crore in the first half of 2026. Projects span advanced materials, biosciences, waste-to-wealth technologies, literature and mathematics.

The highest grant of ₹1.76 crore was awarded to phage therapy focused on genomic surveillance, while an Indo-French project on plasmid-mediated phage resistance received ₹99.9 lakh.

Vice Rector Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar said the achievement reflects the university’s strong research culture and will foster impactful discoveries, collaborations and student opportunities.
