Second Batch of Amarnath Yatra Departs From Jammu; Chanderkote Yatri Niwas Lit Up With Tricolour

The second batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu on Friday amid tight security arrangements for the convoy. A full safety cover has been installed to ensure safe movement of pilgrims. Under tight security, a new batch of pilgrims for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026 left Jammu base camp on Friday morning.

The Yatri Niwas of Shri Amarnath Temple Board at Chanderkote in Ramban district was illuminated with tricolor lights, adding to the festive atmosphere of the ongoing Yatra. Pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan appreciated the arrangements made by the administration and said that they were satisfied with the facilities and felt safe during the pilgrimage. “The arrangements here are very good. I am grateful for the arrangements of the Indian government. Yatri Niwas, illuminated with tricolor lights, is big and full of amenities. Pilgrims do not face any difficulties,” said a pilgrim from Rajasthan. The Ramban district administration has also made round-the-clock arrangements for cleanliness and sanitation to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for pilgrims.

On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees for the pilgrimage from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. The Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes to all the yazris embarking on the holy pilgrimage. “Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is a sacred path where devotion meets spiritual awakening. I wish all devotees a safe, comfortable, happy and spiritually fulfilling journey. May this holy pilgrimage bring great joy and divine peace to everyone,” the Lieutenant Governor said. The UT administration of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Amarnath Ji Temple Board, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, security forces, local community and all stakeholders have made extensive arrangements for devotees coming from across the country and from abroad. In the first batch, more than 4800 pilgrims set out for the holy yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji in a convoy of 259 light and heavy vehicles.
