Hours before U.S. military planes fly over Washington, D.C., an app has been launched to help Americans follow the monumental July 4th aerial flights in real time.

Created by senior White House official Shawn Chittle, the “4th of July Flight” app was designed as a helpful guide for spectators viewing the National Mall and Washington Monument grounds.

To keep up with fast-moving weather movements, the app has an adjustable countdown timer set to the official schedule.

Viewers can also use this tool to access photos, history and basic facts about the legendary plane roaring overhead.

The app will serve as an essential tool for navigating the “Freedom 250” program, which spans more than nine hours of shows.
