Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will not join Harry on trip to London

It has been learned that the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will not accompany the Duke of Sussex to London next week.

No decision has yet been made on whether they will join Prince Harry for the remainder of his five-day trip to England.

This came after the family’s request for police protection was rejected.

Meghan was due to join her husband in Birmingham at the Invictus Games event on Friday and visit Chelsea Royal Hospital in London. Their children were not expected to attend any public events.

It’s unclear whether Harry will accept the invitation to stay at the royal residence, as expected.

The Duke was awaiting review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), which is part of the decision-making process on security requirements of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Personalities of the Royal Family and the Public (Ravec).

His level of protection was reduced when he stepped back from royal duties in 2020, and since then he has not been provided with any police protection unless he attends official royal events.

He is in an ongoing legal battle with the Home Office over security arrangements for him and his family while they are in the UK.

When the duke lost his Court of Appeal appeal against the Home Office last year, he expressed his hope for a reconciliation with his family in an interview with the BBC and said he would not speak to Charles due to his security case.

Harry added: “I’m going to bring my wife and kids back to the UK at this point and there’s going to be things they’re going to miss, you know, everything.”
