Ranga’s Daughter Seeks District in Father’s Name, Memorial Ghat

: Vangaveeti Asha Kiran, daughter of former Vijayawada leader Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, on Saturday appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government to name an area after her father and build a memorial ghat on the banks of the Krishna River where his last rites will be performed.
Asha Kiran, who gifted flowers to Ranga on his 79th birth anniversary in Vijayawada, said a permanent memorial gateway should be established at the cremation ground to honor his legacy. He said that memorial ghats have been built for many prominent political leaders, but no such monument has been built for his father despite constant public scrutiny.
Asha Kiran said that she will soon meet Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and submit a proposal to name an area after Ranga and build the memorial ghat. He expressed hope that the Deputy Prime Minister would consider both requests.
Recalling that Pawan Kalyan had earlier expressed his admiration for Ranga, Asha Kiran said that this gave her confidence that the government would examine the proposals positively. He said he hoped that the state government would take a positive decision considering Ranga’s contribution and the support he continues to receive among his followers.
