RSS Belagavi Meet to Draft Plans to Attract Techies

HYDERABAD: RSS will undertake a new expansion drive for the shakha network under its centenary outreach campaign, using the Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak in Belagavi from July 10 to 12, with special focus on urban formats for IT and other professionals and business communities.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who is scheduled to arrive in Belagavi on July 6, will lead the three-day organizational meeting where senior leaders will review the current strength of shakhas, evaluate the training camp results and finalize the road map.
The Sangh organizes 83,129 shakhas in 51,740 places. The number of weekly activities is 32,147, reflecting the ever-expanding scope of the branch network. RSS joint general secretary CR Mukunda said the organization has reached over 10 crore homes and over 3 lakh villages under the ghar sampark campaign.
Mukunda said there was an emphasis on shakha expansion and public outreach, and explained that the centenary plan had two dimensions: organizational growth through shakhas and a parallel effort to engage the community and mobilize support for social transformation and public awakening.
A senior RSS official said the shakha system has evolved with changing social and labor patterns. While the Sangh has added nightly shakhas and IT milans suitable for working professionals, newer formats have shifted to weekend meetings and flexible models for the educated workforce in major cities.
For urban professionals, RSS is moving from the traditional outdoor shakha in the early morning to more flexible models such as evening, indoor and weekend shakhas, as well as group-specific milanos for IT workers, which are popular as software shakhas and business professionals.
These formats are designed to fit into office schedules and city routines, especially for those who cannot participate in daily exercises. Such meetings may include speeches, discussions, yoga, multimedia presentations, and in some cases, online or video-linked participation.
This shift suggests that the Sangh is trying to retain the shakha as its basic unit while making participation easier for urban, mobile and time-poor members. The broader idea is that Shakha becomes more harmonious while keeping its core structure intact.
He or she will hold sessions in halls or residential communities, scheduling them for late evenings or on weekends and tailoring them to specific groups. The Belagavi baithak is expected to enhance the next phase of this expansion by combining traditional shakhas, city-friendly formats and broader outreach to mark the centenary of the RSS.
The meeting will be attended by prant pracharaks, sah prant pracharaks, kshetra pracharaks and sah kshetra pracharaks from all 11 kshetras and 46 prants and senior functionaries of Sangh-inspired organisations. The agenda also includes discussions on national issues such as organizational review, 2026 training camps, Mohan Bhagwat’s Pravasa Yojana and the upcoming census. All sah sarkaravahs including Bhagwat, Dattatreya Hosabale, Dr Krishnagopal, CR Mukunda, Arun Kumar, Ramdutt, Alok Kumar and Atul Limaye along with Akhil Bharatiya Karya Vibhag Pramukhs and executive council members will attend the meeting.
