‘Vote chori, seat chori, chanda chori’ is BJP’s three-pronged strategy: Congress over Ram Temple row

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that the BJP has a three-pronged strategy: “‘vote kori, seat kori, chanda kori'”.
He also lashed out at the RSS, saying that its statement on the issue was “shameful and shameful”.
Speaking to PTI Video, Ramesh said, “Absolutely beyond any doubt ‘chanda chori’ took place. The RSS statement is shameful and shameful. These are people who are trying to give certificates of truthfulness, honesty and nationalism to others and they have been caught in a very shameful and shameful manner.” he said.
“Donations running into thousands of trillions have been siphoned off. Of course, there should be an investigation by the sitting Supreme Court judge, of course the harshest action should be taken against all the accused, but the silence of the prime minister and the home minister is shocking,” Ramesh said. he said.
“We are waiting for the prime minister, who took the responsibility of building the Ram Temple and inaugurating it on January 22, 2024, just before the Lok Sabha elections and then losing Ayodhya, to make a statement. They have remained completely silent,” the Congress’ general secretary in charge of communications said.
Referring to Congress’ earlier allegations of poll irregularities and rejection of Madhya Pradesh candidate Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination, Ramesh said the BJP has a three-pronged strategy: ‘vote kori, seat kori, chanda kori’. “Remember the electoral bond scheme. It was struck down by the Supreme Court. Hundreds of crores were raised – ‘chanda do dhanda lo’. So this whole ‘Chanda business’ is part of the DNA of the BJP,” Ramesh said.
Ramesh claimed that the prime minister and the home minister should break their silence on the issue.
“We know that all these people who are part of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust are part of the trust because they are trusted by the BJP-RSS. To think that the RSS did not know what it was, to think that the Prime Minister and the HM did not know what it was, is beyond imagination. Everyone knew what it was, this whole initiative was a political initiative and the donation, the trust were also a part of it,” Ramesh said.
The Congress leader asked what Prime Minister’s principal secretary Nipendra Mishra was doing.
“It’s a tightly locked, interconnected ecosystem. Nothing escapes the attention of the other,” he said.
Ramesh claimed that thousands of crores have been collected from people and many people, including Congress leaders, have donated willingly and it has now been proven beyond doubt that large-scale embezzlement has taken place.
“This is a ghotala, a scam perpetrated by the BJP-RSS ecosystem, on which the chief minister and the home minister have remained completely silent,” Ramesh said.
The alleged embezzlement came to light when an FIR was registered on June 25 after an SIT constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government submitted its preliminary findings.
Eight accused were later arrested and police said that around Rs 80 lakh in cash along with some foreign currency has been seized from six of them so far. The investigation continues.
