Man Allegedly Killed By Nephew Over Property Dispute

Eluru: A property dispute turned deadly after a man was hacked to death in broad daylight in Perampeta village of Jangareddygudem mandal on Monday, leading to tense moments in the village.
The deceased was identified as Karumuri Durga Reddy. According to reports, the attack was allegedly carried out by Karumuri Srinivas Reddy, son of the victim’s brother, and his friends near Rythu Bharosa Kendra in Perampeta. Family members claim the murder is linked to an ongoing land and property dispute
Jangareddygudem police came to the scene immediately after receiving information and assessed the situation. A lawsuit was filed and an investigation was launched. Police investigated the scene and made arrangements to transport the body for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased organized a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the suspect and did not allow the body to be carried, creating tension in the village. A large number of villagers gathered near the scene of the incident. Considering the law and order situation, the police have taken additional security measures in the village to prevent any untoward incident.
The relatives also alleged that they had earlier informed the police about threats to Durga Reddy’s life but no action was taken and instead binding cases were filed against them.
Jangareddygudem police stated that they investigated the incident from every angle, examined the injuries on the body, recorded the statements of eyewitnesses and collected other evidence. More details are awaited.
