Indore brown sugar haul: MP Cong chief’s brother’s name has come up in interrogation, claim cops

“Rajendra Nagar police arrested Irfan Khan alias Golu Chanderi and Rani Bhai and 10.8 grams of brown sugar was seized from their possession. The process of registering a case against both the accused is on,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat told reporters.
The DCP said that preliminary interrogation of the two accused revealed that they were going to deliver this consignment of brown sugar to two persons named Nana Patwari and Manav Gangwani.
Rawat said that Nana Patwari has nine criminal cases registered in his name and information about the criminal backgrounds of others has been collected, appropriate legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
While lawyer Jai Hardia, representing Patwari’s family, claimed that the police had taken Nana Patwari into custody, DCP Rawat did not reveal whether Nana Patwari and Gangwani were arrested in connection with the brown sugar seizure.
“The police detained Nana Patwari, the younger brother of the state Congress president, and he was also taken to the scene of the incident,” Hardia said.
