Tragedy as gun-wielding boy, 18, wearing only his underwear is shot dead by cops after wandering streets near his family’s $1.3m mansion in gated community

A handgun-wielding Texas teenager was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies after wandering the streets in his underwear shooting guns outside his family’s mansion.

Austin Hodo, 18, was killed early Wednesday near his family’s $1.3 million home in a gated community in Boerne, Texas.

Following reports that the young man shot at his neighbor, deputies were called to the gated community where Hodo lived with his family.

When they arrived, they found Hodo, a recent graduate of the private Geneva School in Boerne, standing in the middle of the street wearing only her underwear.

Dashcam footage has since emerged showing how officers begged the teenager to drop the gun he was carrying.

Hodo, who plans to start studying at Texas Tech University this fall, was seen carrying a shirt and a gun in the terrifying video, where deputies asked him to put the gun down more than 20 times.

Hodo, who did not respond to the police officers’ requests and appeared to be fascinated, instead raised his gun and fired at the group of four deputies who opened fire on him.

The video cuts away after he stops shooting, and audio recorded on Broadcastify shows officers trying to revive Hodo while calling an ambulance.

Sound reported for the first time KENS5he also recorded an earlier interaction between deputies and a dispatcher, telling them: ‘Someone fired a gun.

‘There will be a man standing in the middle of the road. ‘It will be at the underwear shoot.’

Four deputies notified the officer that they were responding to the scene, and the officer told them that Hodo had attempted to shoot the person who called 911.

Shortly after 5 a.m., deputies began reporting their arrival at the scene. One police officer said to another: ‘I want you to come with me. ‘I’ll use your car for protection.’

A deputy later told them Hodo was carrying a gun, concealed by a shirt.

Dash camera footage shows Hodo standing in the middle of the street, then turning and walking towards the deputies, raising his hand and opening fire.

‘Shot was fired. “Guns were fired,” one of the deputies said before asking for emergency personnel to respond to the scene.

They told the dispatcher they began applying tourniquets to his wounds, emergency crews arrived on scene and found he had a pulse, but he died a short time later.

In the statement made by the ministry, it was said: ‘Despite numerous orders to drop the weapon, Hodo refused to comply.

‘As Hodo continued to advance towards the deputies, he raised his gun and fired at them.

‘In response the MPs discharged their firearms. Hodo was hit by gunfire and fell to the ground.

‘MPs then took a tactical approach and provided immediate assistance. It was determined that Hodo died at the scene.

‘No MP was injured in the incident. The investigation is active and ongoing.

‘This is a difficult time for everyone. Our office is asking if you are a person of faith, please pray for everyone affected by this incident.’

Authorities are still investigating the attack, and no information has been released about the cause of the incident.

Until earlier this year, Hodo studied at the Geneva Boerne School, whose annual tuition was up to $18,360.

He played on the school’s football team and was once awarded ‘Player of the Game’.
