The Maharashtra government announced that 26.34 Lakh beneficiary was temporarily suspended for the June installment within the scope of Ladki Garden program.
“The benefits of the 26.34 Lakh candidate were temporarily suspended from June 2025. The installments of the month were transferred to 2.25 crore beneficiaries.”
The Ministry of Women and Child Development requested information from all government offices to verify the suitability of all applications.
“The information and technology department reported that although it is not suitable, approximately 26.34 Lakh beneficiaries were the beneficiaries of the program,” he said.
The Ladki Garden program was launched in August 2024 before the elections of the Maharashtra Assembly held in November 2024. The program was accepted as one of the reasons for Mahayuti victory, led by BJP in the elections. However, after the elections, the government began to examine the beneficiaries benefiting from the program. Since then, the government has regularly suspended the beneficiaries inappropriate.

While the state government maintains its plan benefits for those who are appropriate after verification, transactions will be made against fraudulent beneficiaries that “mislead the government” and provide benefits through “inappropriate tools”.
Ms. Tatkare pointed out that all inappropriate beneficiaries have benefited from the benefits of more than one plan, and some families have applied to more than two beneficiaries or plans.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ajit Pawar said that on Saturday, the Ladki Garden scheme was for poor women and that there is no point in being men’s beneficiaries, and that harsh action would be taken against the men who benefited from the plan. So the money will be recovered. Action will be taken to cooperate. He responded to reports that 14,000 men were the beneficiaries of the plan.
