Pune building’s compound wall collapses after rains; 14 vehicles damaged

At least 14 vehicles were damaged after the wall of a residential community collapsed following heavy rains in Pune, Maharashtra, in the early hours of Sunday (July 5, 2026), fire officials said.

It was stated that no one was injured in the incident that took place around 03:00 in the Katraj district of the city. “The housing estate is located on Jambhulwadi Road in Katraj. The wall of the housing estate collapsed on the parking lot after continuous heavy rainfall. Many vehicles, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers, were damaged,” a fire official said.

Following the notice, Katraj and Sinhagad fire stations came to the scene and started a rescue operation. Firefighters, with the help of fabrication workers, used angle grinders to cut through the fallen iron frame and remove damaged metal sheets, the official said.

The official added that seven four-wheelers and as many two-wheelers trapped under the collapsed structure were rescued.
