Police search for elderly Melbourne couple missing after shopping trip to The Glen
The disappearance of an elderly couple after leaving a Melbourne shopping center has sparked concern from police and family who fear they may have been confused by age and medical issues.
Colin, 89, and Claudette, 83, were last seen after setting off from aged care facilities near Ferntree Gully Rd in Wheelers Hill at around 11.15am on Saturday.
The pair then arrived at The Glen Shopping Center on Springvale Road in Glen Waverley, where they were seen leaving around noon.
Police said the couple was traveling in a white 2015 Mazda 2 with registration 1ER8FK.
It is stated that the car may have been later seen traveling west on the Monash Highway at around 5.30pm on Saturday.
There are growing fears for the couple’s well-being; Investigators and relatives are concerned because of their age and medical conditions.
Police believed the couple may have been confused.
Colin is described as being around 172cm tall, of slim build, with balding gray hair and wearing glasses. She was last seen wearing a dark long-sleeved top, pants and white shoes.
Claudette, who uses a wheelchair, is described as approximately 142 cm tall, of solid build and with short gray hair. She was wearing a pink zip-up jacket, a floral shirt and dark pants, and was carrying a purse.
Anyone who sees the couple or their vehicle is asked to contact police.
