Officials Told to Expedite Canal Protection Project Works

kakinada:Konaseema district collector R. Mahesh Kumar on Monday directed the irrigation authorities to expedite the construction of casing wall along the Mukkamala-Eedarapalli main canal and complete the project on war footing.

During the inspection of the works near Siripalli on NH-216, the district collector said the cladding wall will prevent erosion of the canal bank, protect the irrigation canal and protect the interests of farmers who depend on it for agriculture.

He said the project will also improve safety along the national highway and help ensure uninterrupted vehicular traffic.
