Prince Harry branded with three-word nickname by royal insiders | Royal | News

Prince Harry recently returned to England, and his return hasn’t been easy at all.

The King’s youngest son was making an official visit from California last week to promote the Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham in July 2027. However, his journey was overshadowed by controversy over royal accommodation arrangements and accommodation plans.

Harry’s representatives claim he received an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace but took time to respond while organizing private security as he was not allowed police protection. The Duke of Sussex claims the Palace withdrew the invitation at the last minute.

It comes after King Charles outlined Prince Harry’s only situation before seeing grandchildren Archie and Lilibet during his visit to England.

Palace sources insist the invitation remained open for a significant period of time and that a clear deadline was given to allow staff sufficient preparation time.

They claim Harry’s team failed to meet the deadline, formally rejected it, and then tried to change their decision too late.

As well as his failed legal challenge against the Mail publisher, there is also ongoing controversy over Harry’s security arrangements, which he has cited as an explanation for traveling to the UK without wife Meghan Markle and children Lilibet and Archie.

Amid the drama, a harsh three-word nickname previously attributed to both Harry and his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has resurfaced. The Times’ Royal Editor, Kate Mansey, explained on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive podcast: “It was the Dukes of Hazard, which was the nickname they gave Andrew and Harry because danger and chaos followed them both.”

“These were the two great problems the courtiers pointed out to me, great obstacles to the king during his reign, alarm signals flashing every time their names were mentioned.

“Do we expect this chaos to happen every time Harry comes? Yes, we do. Because I think what the people I spoke to at the Palace saw was a pattern of behaviour.”

“There are briefings from his camp weeks in advance, what will happen, maybe the children will come, he wants to bring the children, then we have a familiar discussion about security.”

Kate also highlighted how Harry lost his legal battle to automatically qualify for UK police security. “It seems like the courtiers get more and more tired of it every time they come, and frankly I think the public gets tired too,” he added.

Harry arrived in Birmingham on Thursday (July 9) to kick off the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, attending and participating in showcase events alongside competitors from previous Invictus Games.

Meghan and her children joined Harry over the weekend, where they missed most of the visit, and the family met with King Charles.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s sincere feelings after his visit to England with Meghan Markle were revealed.
