Teen fighting for life after stabbing at high school

A teenager is fighting for his life after a suspected school stabbing.
A 17-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries following an altercation at the Islamic College of Brisbane on Tuesday.
Police said the incident took place at the school in Brisbane’s south at around 11.45am between two young men who knew each other.
“A 16-year-old boy is assisting the police with investigations,” the police statement said.
Patrols were being carried out in the Karawatha area of the school after police requested information on Tuesday afternoon.
This is the second stabbing at a Queensland school in as many days.
A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized in stable condition after a fight at a high school in the northern part of the state around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, police said.
He suffered abdominal injuries at Trinity Bay State High School in Cairns.
A second 15-year-old boy fled on foot and was found nearby about a half hour later, police said.
Charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, he was refused bail and appeared in the Cairns Children’s Court on Tuesday.
