Oommen Chandy set the benchmark for public service, says Kerala Minister Anilkumar

Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy continues to be a model of how a public representative should interact with people, Kerala Revenue Minister AP Anilkumar said on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Inaugurating the Oommen Chandy Commemoration program organized by the District Congress Committee (DCC), Mr. Anilkumar said the late leader always stood by the most vulnerable sections of the society and did everything within his capacity to help improve their lives.

Oommen said Chandy never sought recognition or personal fame for the initiatives he implemented in public life. Instead, he firmly believed that the true essence of public service lies in making a positive difference in the life of at least one person.

“His ideology was based on the belief that true public service is measured not by fame or accolades, but by the good one can do for other people,” the minister said.

DCC chairman Atty. Joseph Tajet presided over the event.
