Meghan ‘dangled Archie and Lilibet like a carrot’ at major royal | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has come under fire for suggesting her intention to bring her children to see King Charles.

King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed Prince Harry, 41, Meghan, 44, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, at their private country home Highgrove House in Gloucestershire on Friday, July 10.

TalkTV presenter Mark Dolan described Meghan’s return to royal soil as “symbolic” and Digital Spy editor Sarah-Louise Robertson agreed.

He said: “Indeed. This is something no one could have predicted a few years ago. We know Meghan is determined to stay in California and will never set foot on British soil again unless someone puts a crown on her head.”

“Maybe she thinks it will happen in the future. Things have changed. Meghan and Harry’s American dream did not come true the way they thought it would.”

Sarah-Louise suggested Meghan’s desire to repair relations with the Royal Family was driven mainly by alleged financial interests.

He continued, “The issue with these two always comes back to funding. The money hasn’t arrived yet. That means the cash hasn’t had the huge impact that Meghan predicted years ago when she was working on Megxit.”

“The safes are building. Meghan is cunning and wants to curry favor with the King because they want to use her services. How do they do it? They have gifts for grandchildren.

“These grandchildren were dangled over the King’s head like carrots as a way to keep him on his side. This appears to be manipulative behavior.”

While he argued that Harry and Meghan wanted their children to have a bond with King Charles, he noted that their real motivation stemmed from the fact that he was “the ruling monarch of Britain.”

Sarah-Louise continued: “When she was almost handed the keys to the castle when she married Harry in 2018, she realized how much talent Meghan had. She threw it all away because she wanted to be a big Hollywood star. It didn’t work.”

He added that Meghan now realizes she needs to get back into King Charles’ “good books.”

He also observed that Meghan now understands the importance of getting herself back into King Charles’ good graces and sees it as “the answer to all her problems.”

Sarah-Louise made a clear distinction between Meghan’s intentions and Harry’s, arguing that the Duke of Sussex genuinely wanted a family reconciliation and “longed” to return to his homeland.

“Last year, Harry longed to go back to the United Kingdom. He misses England. The California dream was lost on Harry before it was lost on Meghan,” he said.

“Meghan’s not really lost. She wants to live in California, but she wants the King’s praise and the money that comes with it on her side.

“Harry isn’t interested in that side of the business, he wants to go back to England. He wants to get things back on track with his family.”

Sarah-Louise claimed Meghan was now placating Harry, but that was because she thought it would ultimately benefit her financially.
