Five Telangana tourists rescued after being swept into sea at Visakhapatnam’s RK Beach

Five tourists from Telangana were rescued from drowning by the Coast Guard Police (Navy) in coordination with community guards after they were swept into the sea by strong waves at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

According to Coast Guard Police Visakhapatnam Inspector S. Ramesh, the incident took place around 10.30 am when the tourists, all from Mushampalli in Telangana’s Nalgonda district, entered the sea to take a bath. They had difficulty returning to shore after being suddenly pulled deeper into the water by strong coastal waves.

Marine police teams on duty on the beach noticed the situation and immediately started a rescue operation. They quickly entered the water and brought all five tourists safely back to shore.

First aid was given to the rescued tourists at the scene. All five were reported to be safe and in good health.
