Traffic Curbs Announced in Hyderabad for Jagannath Ratha Yatra

Hyderabad: Ahead of the Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra scheduled for July 16, Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued an alert warning of traffic congestion and announcing diversions on major routes in the city.
According to officials, a grand parade organized by ISKCON will start from NTR Stadium near Indira Park at 11 am and proceed through Dharna Chowk, Ashok Nagar, RTC Cross Roads, Narayanaguda, Himayathnagar, Liberty, Basheerbagh, Abids and Koti and then culminate at the Exhibition Grounds at 5 pm.
Traffic along the ceremony route will be regulated, stopped or diverted depending on the movements of devotees, officials said. Heavy traffic congestion is expected at important junctions such as RTC Cross Roads, Liberty, Basheerbagh and Abids.
Also between 12 noon and 8 pm at Banjara Hills Road No. Another Ratha Yatra will be taken out from Jagannath Temple on 12th. Traffic restrictions will be imposed in and around Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar and Shaikpet areas.
Vehicles coming from Masab Tank, Lakdikapul and Khairatabad towards Road No. 12, Film Nagar, Shaikpet and Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills are advised to proceed via Road No. 1 – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – NTR Bhavan – Jubilee Hills Check Post to reach their destination. Alternatively, passengers can proceed via Road No. 12 – ACB Office Road – MLA Colony – Omega Hospital – Apollo Junction.
Vehicles coming towards Road No. 12 from Shaikpet, Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills and Tolichowki will be stopped at Jubilee Hills Check Post – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – Road No. 1, they are advised to proceed via Banjara Hills.
Madhapur, Hi-Tech City, Road No. 45 and Road No. From 36 Road No. Vehicles coming towards 12 will check Jubilee Hills Check Post – NTR Bhavan – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – Road No. 1, they are advised to proceed via Banjara Hills.
