While Prince Harry’s last visit to England was reportedly overshadowed by security concerns, housing problems and ongoing tensions with the Royal Family, sources claimed that the situation deeply upset Meghan Markle.
Royals reporter Russell Myers told People that Harry’s trip “turned into a nightmare” because security issues forced Meghan Markle, 44, and her children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, to return to California earlier than planned.
A source who knows the Sussexes told the media that Meghan would feel “humiliated” as she watched Harry and the royal establishment bicker over arrangements for the visiting family.
Another source said the former Suits actress is “very supportive” of Harry but there is “a lot of sadness” about how the trip went.

Harry spent just a week in Britain, where he was promoting the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year.
According to reports, the Sussexes were denied taxpayer-funded security and an offer for the couple to stay at the royal residence was withdrawn, with Harry traveling alone for much of his visit.
Meghan was not expected to attend the Invictus Games event with Harry.

However, she and her children were later married to King George III. She joined the Duke for a reunion with Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.
Charles married Archie and Lilibet, who live with Harry and Meghan in California, to Queen Elizabeth II. He hadn’t seen her since they attended Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
A source told People: “It’s better if people don’t know anything about these meetings. They should be allowed to rekindle family ties.”
The outcome of Harry’s visit “is further evidence of the fragility of Harry’s relationship with the institution,” Myers said.
A source also claimed there would be much more certainty each time Harry visits the UK if the security situation had been resolved.
As well as security and accommodation disputes, Harry discovered that he had lost a legal battle against a British newspaper publisher while in the UK.
The duke had sued Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail, for alleged privacy breaches.
“The court case was a huge defeat for Harry,” royal author Simon Vigar told People.
Harry later described the decision as a “complete and clear exoneration” in a statement.
Did Harry meet Prince William during his visit?
Although Harry met his father, he did not meet his estranged brother, Prince William, during the trip.
According to Page Six, an insider described the state of the brothers’ relationship: “It’s very broken.”
Another source claimed that there was “no movement specifically on William’s part.”
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told the publication that William understood Charles’ decision to meet Harry “even if he didn’t do it himself.”
Schofield added that William could appreciate “a father living with cancer wanting to see his son and grandchildren” but believed Harry had “failed to regain the family’s trust.”
Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and subsequently criticized aspects of their royal life in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and in the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.
The couple have no plans to return to the Royal Family as working members.
