MP HC Names 4 Fast-Track Courts Day After CM Announcement
– What happened? The Madhya Pradesh high court has appointed four special fast-track courts to expedite cases related to paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment tests.
The development came just hours after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that he would set up four dedicated fast courts in the cities of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior in the state.
Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia on Friday night designated district and additional sessions courts in four districts as special fast track courts to try offenses under Lok Pariksha (Anuchit Sadhanaka Ka Nivaran) Adhiniyam, 2024 and other related offences.
Special fast track courts have been asked to dispose of cases within three months of filing of charges.
In the statement made by the government, it was stated that the initiative aims to protect the sanctity, transparency and reliability of public examinations and to ensure that such cases are concluded quickly and effectively through the judiciary.
The jurisdiction of each special fast track court will extend to designated areas adjacent to its headquarters and effective judicial administration will be ensured across the state through these four courts, the notification said.
The move comes right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the setting up of fast-track courts to try cases related to paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment tests.
Mr. Modi’s announcement came after students staged protests under the platform of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in Delhi and other parts of the country demanding action against paper leaks in NEET-UG.
