Hyd Man Dies After Fall Into Gorge Near Gundam Waterfall

The deceased has been identified as Syed Atharuddin, a resident of Gajularamaram in Hyderabad.

According to police, Atharuddin had gone for a walk with his three friends to Gundam Falls near Arunachalapuram village in Wazeedu mandal.

While he was going through the forest towards the waterfall, he allegedly slipped off the edge of the cliff, plunged into a deep valley and was fatally injured.

Police said the group entered the restricted forest area despite the forest department’s ban prohibiting public access to the waterfall.

Authorities believe the group violated entry restrictions before the accident occurred.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot and took the body to Eturnagaram District Hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered and further investigation is on, police said.
