IndiGo signs MOU for record LEAP-1A engine deal with CFM

Farnborough: India’s largest airline IndiGo signed a memorandum of understanding with CFM International to purchase more than 1,000 LEAP-1A engines; This would represent a record deal for the engine maker, which has been criticized by the industry for maintenance delays.

CFM, which produces engines for the Boeing 737 MAX and competes with Pratt & Whitney on the Airbus A320neo, is the world’s largest engine manufacturer in terms of units sold. It is jointly owned by GE Aerospace and France’s Safran.
