Viral influencer Clavicular defends looksmaxxing, refutes incel accusations

Amid his controversial on-air antics, viral influencer Clavicular revealed his thoughts on modern dating culture as well as “incel culture,” an online subculture comprised mostly of young, heterosexual men who describe themselves as “involuntary celibates” and are often branded as misogynists.

The 20-year-old internet star, whose real name is Braden Peters, sat down with Fox News host Sean Hannity in the July 21 episode of the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” program. When asked about its content strategy and views on women, Clavicular defended the “looksmaxxing” movement and accusations that it promotes “incel culture.”

“People often try to associate exaggerating their appearance with incel culture and extreme resentment towards women, when in fact it is the antithesis of that, right?” he said. “Looksmaxxing is an attempt to evade privacy, so trying to make this connection makes no sense to me.”

“Looksmaxxing” is a strict health regimen aimed at perfecting one’s appearance and includes practices such as taking stimulants and bone crushing, which Clavicular defines as hitting your facial bones with a hammer to stimulate bone growth.

The streamer also reflected on how incel culture might influence the dating scene and connections between men and women.

“Whenever I talk about hypergamy and why the dating market is tough, I’ll talk about how women on dating apps can gravitate towards the best profiles and things like that,” she said. “But then I’ll also say this: Can you blame them for the generation of men who are after them? So I think it’s a problem on both sides. It’s not just for women, it’s not just for men; it’s holistic.”

Clavicular was previously pressed during the tension about whether she identifies as slim Sit-down interview with “60 Minutes Australia” correspondent Adam Hegarty in April. He lashed out at the journalist and criticized the question.

“So how can you ask me that question after asking me about my relationships with women?” he replied. “So that’s the worst line of questions I’ve ever heard.”

Hegarty has repeatedly pressed Clavicular about her allegations with the incel community and her connection to fellow internet celebrity Andrew Tate, but has denied any connection to the group.

“I am not affiliated with that group in any way,” he countered. “Looksmaxxing is about self-improvement, right? So it’s about potentially breaking out of that category. So that could kind of be one of the goals – to get away from being thin and get over that. So that doesn’t make sense.”

Clavicular abruptly ended the interview and stormed off the set.

By contrast, Hannity left Clavicular with words of encouragement after their wide-ranging speech, wishing him “all the success in the world” and advising him to be “careful.”
