PV Sindhu crashes out of China Open after three-game loss to Chen Yufei

In the energy-consuming match that lasted nearly an hour and a half, Sindhu lost 21-16 20-22 18-21. The 30-year-old Hyderabadi entered the tournament on a high after winning the Japan Open last week, ending his long title drought.
It was clearly evident in the opening match that the match would be a tight contest, with Sindhu winning from 7-13 to 16-16.

The Indian then scored five consecutive points to take the early advantage.
However, it was Chen’s turn to make a comeback in the second game when Sindhu wasted four game points.
Chen, who won the gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, won the match 22-20 with a score of 16-20.
The deciding third game was also largely neck-and-neck before Chen broke through to seal the win at 17-17.
