‘Dismiss Pradhan’: Opposition MPs stage protest at Parliament over NEET paper leak
Several MPs held banners with slogans calling for Pradhan’s removal over the alleged paper leak that gripped the Monsoon Session.
The protest follows a direct clash between NDA and INDIA bloc MPs on Thursday, with both sides holding simultaneous demonstrations in Makar Dwar.
While the opposition demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the NDA accused them of deliberately obstructing a debate on the issue.

In a post on X, the Congress published three demands of the opposition, including the resignation of Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Congress said, “Youth has 3 demands that must be fulfilled. Dharmendra Pradhan must resign, action must be taken against those who commit violence against students, Narendra Modi must apologize to the youth of the country.” Earlier, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his video message on NEET-UG 2026 document leak and demanded that the Prime Minister make a statement in Parliament to sack the Union Education Minister. We apologize to Dharmendra Pradhan and the students who protested the issue.
In a post shared on Kharge said.
“@narendramodi ji, Before coming to Parliament today, come after dismissing Dharmendra Pradhan. Firstly apologize to the students and take strict action against those who ordered the use of lathis, batons and Pellet Guns to suppress students’ voices. Then we are ready for a detailed Debate on the education system,” he added.
Kharge’s remarks came after Prime Minister Modi said “stricter” action would be taken against those involved in paper leaks and announced that the Union Cabinet would consider a draft bill proposing Fast Track Courts and harsh punishments for criminals.
Meanwhile, Congress Parliamentary Party president Sonia Gandhi said the Central government was meeting peaceful student protests with “cowardice and wanton cruelty” and treating the country’s youth as “enemies of the nation” instead of “heirs of the future”.

In an editorial written in The Hindu magazine, Congress Parliamentary Party president Sonia Gandhi appealed to the Center to stop the police crackdown and stated: “These are our sons and daughters, our young men and women.
The article calls the July 20 parliament march, in which Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Force allegedly used lathicharge and tear gas against protesters, injuring many, including some who went home, as a “disgraceful day”. He calls on the government to stop repression and engage in dialogue instead.
