Teen who singer D4vd is accused of killing had multiple abortions, texts reveal

Messages between singer D4vd and 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who is accused of murder, reveal that she was pregnant and had an abortion before her death.

The messages were shown during a judge’s hearing to decide whether the singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, should be tried over the teenager’s death last year.

“What [if] Celeste texted Burke in June 2024, according to prosecutors. Celeste was 13 at the time and he was 19.

Prosecutors say Burke killed her after she threatened to expose him for molesting a minor and ruin his career. He did not accept the charges of killing and sexually abusing the girl.

In a conversation from January 2024, Burke apologized to the teen “for putting him through this situation,” according to messages shown in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday.

She said, “None of us are capable of taking care of the baby. Isn’t that for the best?” he replied.

Burke asked, “And my mom always told me to ask that question, if I ever got into this situation…it’s mine, right?”

According to a detective’s statement, Celeste replied, “of course it’s yours, David.”

The court heard that in another text sent to Celeste in June 2024, Burke wrote: “Let’s let this abortion be the last abortion until we get the real abortion…”

Prosecutors presented iCloud data recovered from the defendant’s iPhone; This data showed texts between Celeste and Celeste dating back to August 8, 2022, when Celeste was 11 and Burke was 17.

D4vd, who rose to fame with TikTok viral Romantic Murder and Here With Me, was on tour in September 2025 when police found Celeste’s body in the front truck of his Tesla.

His worldwide tour was canceled and he largely withdrew from public life and social media.

Police announced his arrest in April this year.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman filed seven criminal charges against him, including murder, repeated sexual abuse of a child and dismemberment of corpses.

They said the teenager was reported missing by his family and was last seen at Burke’s Hollywood Hills home on April 3, 2025, five months before his remains were found in Tesla.

Prosecutors claimed that he met Celeste online when he was 11, and that he began sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18.
