Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation reflects NDA govt’s commitment to students: Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday said Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation as Union Education Minister reflects the NDA government’s unwavering commitment to the aspirations of students and its determination to ensure that every genuine concern gets due attention.

Assuring that the government is taking every necessary step to strengthen the examination system, the Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel urged the students to focus on their studies and pursue their dreams with confidence.

Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday over the alleged NEET paper leak that triggered protests across the country and said it was not a matter of “individual prestige” for him.

The main demand of the protesters was that Pradhan resign or be removed from office.


“Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the voice of India’s youth has always been heard with sincerity and respect,” Kumaraswamy said in ‘X’.

Kumaraswamy also said that the Government of India is taking every necessary step to strengthen the examination system, address NEET-related issues and introduce reforms that promote justice, transparency and merit.

“I encourage our students to focus on their studies and pursue their dreams with confidence. A strong and competent young generation is the foundation of Viksit Bharat,” he added.
