Railway Loco Pilot Held For Elderly Woman’s Murder, Robbery

Tirupati police chief L. Subba Rayudu said on Sunday that the accused Pasham Rupesh Kumar (36) was detained near Krishnapatnam railway station after a technical investigation by special police teams.
According to the SP, the victim, M. Jyothi (69), was found murdered at her house in Vijayanagar area of ​​Sainagar panchayat under Tirupati Rural police station limits on July 14. She was living alone when the accused allegedly entered the house, killed her and fled with 90 grams of gold jewelery worth around ₹12 lakh and ₹47,000 in cash.
Rayudu said the accused was known to the victim’s family and was facing financial problems due to debts. Investigators alleged he targeted the woman after learning about her living arrangements.

During investigation, police alleged that the accused tried to hide his identity by wearing a black burqa, face scarf and a helmet while traveling to Tirupati. He also allegedly stole a scooter belonging to another railway employee and planted a fake license plate on it before using it for the crime.

The SP said that CCTV footage, digital evidence and other technical inputs helped the investigators in tracking the movements of the accused, which led to his arrest. According to the SP, stolen gold jewellery, a gun and a scooter believed to have been used in the crime were recovered.

Rayudu said the case was solved using scientific and technical investigation methods. He said police would continue to use modern investigative tools to detect crimes and bring criminals to justice.

Bad smell neighbors led to woman’s death in Proddatur

The suspicious death of a 46-year-old woman, who was found dead in her house in Proddatur town of YSR Kadapa district, was revealed days later after the bad smell emanating from the house.

The deceased has been identified as K. Susan Rani, a resident of Vasantapet in Proddatur. According to the police, she was living alone in a small section on the terrace of a house after separating from her husband Satyanand Kumar due to marital differences. The couple, who got married about 10 years ago, had no children.

The incident came to light on the night of July 25, when neighbors noticed the intense bad smell coming from the house and informed their relatives. “We felt something was wrong when the smell became unbearable. We immediately informed family members and the police,” said one of the local residents.

Susan Rani’s sister Hepsiba filed a complaint with the police. The police, who came to the scene upon notice, broke down the door and found the woman lying dead inside the house. Initial observations indicate that he died three to four days before discovery.

“My sister’s death seems suspicious. I request the police to conduct a thorough investigation and find out exactly what happened,” Hepsiba said.

Srinivasulu, sub-inspector of the single town, confirmed that a case has been registered and investigation is on. “We are examining all possible angles. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy,” he said. While the body was removed for autopsy, the investigation into the incident continues.

42 vehicles seized during cordon and search operations in Nellore district

SPSR Nellore police carried out large-scale cordon and search operations (CASO) at Lake View Colony under Dargamitta Police Station limits in Nellore and Kadivedu village under Chillakur Police Station on Sunday as part of an initiative to strengthen law and order across the district.

In Chillakur, police led by Gudur Rural circle inspector inspected around 125 houses in Kadivedu village. 16 two-wheelers without valid documents were seized for further verification.

Following the operations, the police organized awareness programs for local residents on women and child safety, road safety, helmet use, cybercrime prevention, emergency services, anti-drug awareness and property crime prevention. A man stabbed his wife to death in West Godavari

A man named Mangam Murali stabbed his wife Mangam Lakshmi (45), living in Undi Village of West Godavari district, on Sunday evening after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol.

According to Undi police, the accused Murali was a drunkard and would often harass him in exchange for liquor money. There were frequent fights between the two. Teenager dies by suicide in Srikakulam town

A 20-year-old youth died by suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in the Housing Board colony in Srikakulam town. The deceased was identified as G. Chandrakanth, an employee of the education department. Police said the teenager’s father passed away a few months ago and Chandrakanth was hired on compassionate grounds after his father’s death. Cases filed against two former YSRC MLAs

Rangampet police has registered two cases against former Rajanagaram MLA and YSRC youth wing state president Jakkampudi Raja and also former Anaparthi MLA Sathi Suryanarayana Reddy, based on the complaint filed by village revenue officer K.
