Lanaudière | Man in his 50s drowned

A man lost his life while swimming on Saturday afternoon in Mandeville, in the Lanaudière region.

Around 2 p.m., the 50-year-old was swimming in a pool near Chemin des Chutes when his loved ones lost sight of him, explains the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). He was quickly found unconscious by other swimmers.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is still unknown.

A coroner’s inquest has been opened to shed light on the circumstances of the tragic event.
