Wildlife biologist recalls ‘black-haired Bigfoot’ circling her car
A wildlife biologist recalled seeing a six-foot-tall “black-haired” creature wandering around his car in the middle of the night during a camping trip.
Carol Scott explained that she went on vacation to Mount Baker in Oregon with her husband in 1979, and the couple decided to pack up their tent and sleep in their station wagon because they were afraid of the threat of bears. Carol claims the pair were awakened by a “very large creature” that circled the car for about 15 minutes and disappeared into the darkness.
“In August 1979, I was working as a wildlife biologist in Eastern Oregon,” she wrote in a report submitted to the North American Wood Ape Conservancy. “I was married, and my husband and I went camping to the top of Mount Baker, the largest mountain in Eastern Oregon. The top of this mountain was pure wilderness…
“We pitched a tent but never slept there because we were afraid there might be wildlife there. We had a small station wagon and decided to sleep there in case we encountered a bear.”
“There was a very large creature that came out of the woods in the middle of the night and walked around our car in circles on two legs for at least 15 minutes or more.”
He added of the beast: “It walked on two legs and made a sound as if it had a spiked leg like Captain Hook. This creature was large, about five feet tall, and had black hair.”
“He was curious about the car and continued walking in circles around the car. When I showed the flashlight light on him, he stopped walking. Then, when the light turned off, he started walking again.
“This encounter lasted at least 15-20 minutes. The creature then lost interest and wandered off into the forest.”
The two then got out of the car and started a campfire to keep the creature away, Carol explained. He also explained that he returned to the mountain to conduct research on birds and that he carried a shotgun for protection.
He searched the sighting for any other evidence of the creature but found nothing.
“Wildlife people were studying Bigfoot in Washington and Oregon states. This creature is considered a real, endangered species,” Carol concluded.
“Scott shared that he rarely tells others about this experience because when he has talked about it in the past, the encounter has often been dismissed,” wrote Tami Grimes, North American Wood Ape Conservancy researcher.
“He also stated that it was a relief for him to be able to discuss the incident with an organization that approaches the issue from a scientific perspective. His faith is still strong.
“He described his experience not as vague or vague, but as a clear and direct encounter with a large, two-legged animal. Regarding this incident, which occurred approximately 47 years ago, Scott said: ‘I remember it as clearly as last night, and I will never forget it.'”
