Paris stabbing: Three people including pregnant woman stabbed | World | News

A pregnant woman was among three people stabbed in a horror knife attack in Paris. The incident took place at around 11.30 local time on Monday in Porte de Clichy, northwest of the French capital. The victims, aged 19, 24 and 36, were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. Two of the victims are said to be in critical condition, according to BFMTV.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said a suspect was detained by an off-duty police officer who witnessed the attack. “I remember him, it was a brave move,” the minister told reporters.

The suspect, whose age is reported to be 31 in local sources, was detained at the scene.

Mr. Nunez said the motive for the incident was unknown and police had not yet been able to confirm the suspect’s identity because his statements during the arrest were “inconsistent.”

The investigation into the incident continues.
