The murder trial of the Massachusetts woman who attempted to commit suicide by drowning her three children begins today.
Lindsay Clancy, 35, is accused of brutally murdering her three children – five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan – in January 2023.
Although Clancy did not deny killing her children, she did not admit guilt and claimed that she was not responsible for her actions because she suffered from postpartum psychosis.
Prosecutors plan to argue that the killings were deliberate and well-planned, not the work of someone out of control.
The jury will hear opening statements in Clancy’s murder trial on Monday, after which her ex-husband Patrick Clancy is expected to take the stand.
He is a witness for both the prosecution and the defense.
