Congress MP submits a memorandum seeking urgent discussion on Ram Temple donation ‘scam’
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala on Thursday, July 20, 2026, filed a formal notice under Rule 267 seeking suspension of listed business to discuss allegations of financial irregularities, embezzlement and donation plunder in connection with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Mr. Surjewala, in his notice addressed to the Rajya Sabha General Secretary, appealed to the Speaker to set aside all previously planned legislative work for an urgent, high-priority debate to establish government accountability.
The declaration underlines that millions of devotees around the world have contributed thousands of trillions of rupees through collective, individual and secret donations due to their deep religious beliefs.
“This is because the issue of theft of donations, looting of offerings and embezzlement of Shri Ram Temple is not just a case of sycophancy that has damaged the faith of millions of devotees, but is also a direct case of looting, embezzlement and corruption committed by the members and their respective employees of the Shri Ram Temple Trust constituted on the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court,” the notification said.
