Flood Inflow Swells Srisailam Reservoir to Near Capacity; Six Gates Opened

Srisailam: An important flood entrance from the upper basin areas brought the Srisailam Reservoir closer to its full capacity and pushed the authorities to open the six full -winged gates to 10 feet. The water is now left down to the Nagarjuna Sagar.

The reservoir is currently receiving a combined introduction of 2,29,743 CUSCS from Jurala and Sunkesula projects. The total exit stands as 2,48,900 Cusec distributed on multiple channels:

1,62,942 Cusecs from Six Dolbles

20,000 Cusec through Pothyreddypadu Head Regulator

35.315 Cusecs from Left Bank Electrical Power Plant

30,643 Cusecs from the right bank electrical power plant

From now on, the water level of the reservoir has reached 883 feet, shy from the 885 feet level. The existing storage area is 204.78 TMC and approaches the maximum capacity of 215.80 TMC.
