Aussie rocket carrying Vegemite lifts off, then crashes

Australia, we have take -off.
For the first time, an Australian -made rocket collided only after a few minutes.
The 14 -second hymen in North Queensland, Bowen, was greeted a “big step ına to Australia, a potentially profitable global space industry.
On Wednesday, Gilmour Space Technologies wrote history with the first orbit attempt of a rocket designed and built in Australia.
To mark the milestone, the only inhabitants of the 23 -meter 35 -ton eris rocket were vegemite jar.
The audience in the coastal town near Townsville was followed by the Youtube channel Aussienaut when thousands of people around the world were released at 8.30.
The rocket took off with the smoke feathers coming out of gold before flying up for a short time and then hit the nearby place.
The Gold Coast -based company said that there is no injury or an environmental effect.
CEO Adam Gilmour, LinkedIn “I am happy outside the pad,” he said.
“Of course, I would like more flights, but I would be happy.”
He then published on Facebook: “After a 18 -month waiting for the pad, especially for the final approvals, for the first test flight, this is a strong result and a big step for Australia’s dominant space capacity.”
The flight was short, but it was still ready to offer vital data.
Gilmour said in a statement, “Space is hard. SpaceX, Rocket Lab and others needed more than one test flight to reach orbit,” Gilmour said.
“We have learned a tremendous amount that will begin to improve our next vehicle in production.
“This was the first real test of our rocket systems, repulsive technology and spacestone, and proved that most of what we built works.”
Gilmour Space Technologies aims to design and produce rockets to move satellites into space using new hybrid drive technology.
If it is successful, the company’s rockets will carry small satellites to the orbit for business and the government in a low -cost service – increasing demand.

Swinburne Technology University told Rebecca Allen AAP.
“If rockets are to be produced here, it means great benefits for the Australian economy and work.
“We accept quite behind where we need to be in terms of an advanced nation – this is definitely approaching where we should be.”
The launch was postponed for months due to weather and technical problems.
Tuesday afternoon to get up and only because of high winds stopped 10 minutes away from the launch.

Australia’s attempt to enter the space race did not take long, but Dr Allen admitted that it was successful.
“The launch is a big milestone here for the space industry. Very big,” he said.
“This rocket means that we do not trust another country to access the area after the rocket is more reliable and the launch is fully undertaken to the sub -orbit.”
Gilmour Space Technologies recently received a $ 5 million grant from the federal government to help launch after receiving Commonwealth financing to lead a space production network in Australia.
“Only six countries go orbit regularly and only try to join them – today it brings Australia closer to this club,” Gilmour said.
