SC Quashes Lifetime Ban on Cricketer

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court broke the ban on the life of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) to the former Ranji cricket player Santhosh Karunakaran and made the case again.

Leaving aside the order of the 2021 Kerala Supreme Court, which refused to challenge the black list of Karunakaran, justice of the justice Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta: He concluded that the person is approaching the written court with dirty hands.

The Court also recorded: “The documents placed on the record and the communication shows that the appeal of the person and his lawyer became difficult for the original application to appeal to Ombudsman during the trials because the virtual hearing parade was frequently interrupted without any reason.”

Karunakaran, who is also a member of the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cricket Association, sought a model looking for a model to be applied in all regions in 2019 to the Ombudsman -Cum -Cum -Cimet. The Ombudsman rejected the appeal in October 2020 because the regional cricket associations could not be implemented despite the repeated instructions.

He argued that the proceedings were deprived of transparency and that they were never informed of these special instructions, and objected to this decision in the Supreme Court. Both a single judge and a division bench rejected his petitions, claiming that he approached the court with “dirty hands ve and hidden material facts.

After the appeal was rejected, the KCA issued a demonstration notification in accordance with the 15 (4) (s) section of its regulations, and in August 2021, Karunakaran was banned from all activities and prohibited life for life. The Supreme Court has now put aside this ban and ordered a new hearing.
