In the last four years, the artist Loribelle Spirovski, who was born in Manila, approached to give up the picture while breastfeeding a weakening injury that sent pins and needles to their hands and kept the brush difficult and painful.

On Thursday, Spirovski won the 2025 Archibald Award Award for a cheerful portrait of Virtuoso William Barton, which was completely painted with gloved fingers and hands.

Director Maud Page said the portrait was under incredible pressure and painted with flexibility that captures Barton’s energy and soul.
