Five arrested for burglary at government doctor’s house in Panruti, 93 sovereigns of melted jewellery recovered

The Kadampuliyur police in the Villapuram region arrested five men allegedly dealing with a theft, and on Sunday, August 3, 2025, 93 jewelery saved the sovereign of them.
Unidentified persons, on July 25, near Perruti Perruti Perruti Pillayarkuppam’da Government Villapuram Medical College and Hospital Raja’nın work after entering the house, police Villpuram Inspector S. Jeyakumar, created a special team to investigate the crime.
On Sunday, during a vehicle control in Sathipattu on the Panrouti-Kumbakonam Highway, the team seized five people traveling at a SUV. During the audit, the team found melted jewels in 93 sovereigns.
Investigations by the police, Powder Pillayarkuppam’da Surresh (37), Dinesh Kumar (30), Jegadeesan (31), Murugan (52) and Ashok (33) revealed that the defendants appeared.
Police said the defendant had access to the house by opening the grill door. After the gloom, they melted 93 jewelery sovereigns and tried to sell them in Kumbakonam when they were caught by the police.
The defendant was produced before a local court and was detained.
