Sir Leo Hielscher, long-serving Queensland public servant, dies aged 98
Speaking to ABC, Health Minister Tim Nicholls remembered Sir Leo as a great Queenslander, who was always very sweet ,, in advice to the treasures of all political persuasions even after his retirement.
“He had a very long and productive life, and he made a great contribution to what Queensland was today,” he said.

“At that time, I can remember the stories of the Credit Council meetings when he will fight the demons in Canberra to ensure that the premiere of the day and Sir Leo had received the fair share of Queensland.
“We still have these wars with the demons in Canberra. A little more civilized, but Leo was meticulously and above all Queenslander.”
