Traffic disruption in CBD expected on Friday over Rahul Gandhi rally

The opposition leader in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is expected to lead a protest rally against the allegation of voting during the 2024 parliamentary polls at Freedom Park and is expected to go to the chief voter officers office to send a memorandum.
Prime Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Prime Minister DK Shivakumar and several ministers will attend.
Traffic Movement, Khodeys Junction, Anand Rao Circle, Sheshadri Yolu, Mysore Bank Circle, Chalukya Circle, Calida Circle, Calidasa Road and Mourya Junction were restricted and vehicles will be directed to adjacent roads. Drivers were advised to avoid these stretches between 10 and 5 am on Friday and use alternative routes wherever possible.
The rally in Freedom Park will probably have a snowball effect and will disrupt the traffic beyond the CBD. In the Old Airport Road, MG Road and Cubbon Road, the parking space of all kinds of vehicles is prohibited between 10.30 and 11.30 and again between 15:30 and 16.30.
City Police Commissioner, Gamar Singh said, “Detailed security arrangements were made to ensure the law and order and security of the VVIPs and in mind that the general public should not affect the traffic and members.
