Delhi Metro records highest-ever ridership with over 81 lakh journeys on Raksha Bandhan eve

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that Delhi Metro had recorded the highest one -day rider on 8 August 2025 with a total of 81,87,674 passengers.

According to the DMRC, the record -breaking rider came in response to the increasing travel request in front of the Raksha Bandhan Festival. To manage the passenger load, the metro operator made 92 additional train trips on August 8 and planned 455 extra trips for August 9, which provided improved frequency and reduced crowds for passengers.

Operational focus during the festival Rush

Delhi Metro usually experiences higher uprising during festivals. DMRC, Raksha Bandhan Rush during the survival of passenger operations were made, more than busy hours of train and lock exchange stations with crowded management efforts.
