At a hearing on Wednesday, Lady Justice Macur, sitting with Ms. Justice Cutts and Mr. Justice Murray, decided that the child’s punishment was neither extremely soft nor explicitly excessively.

He said: ‘We think that the judge has carried out the necessary punishment exercise in a conscientious manner and conveyed his words to the guilty and common defendants with great skills.

‘We cannot find that the sentence is unjustly soft.’
