Man dies and another missing after inflatable boat crash near Portsmouth

After a deadly collision containing a swelling boat near Portsmouth, a person searches for a person.

A man in his 60s died after an incident with a special hard -bodied swelling boat near Tipner on Thursday night.

Another man in his 50s was taken to hospital while he continued to find a man who was missing in his 60s.

Hampshire and White Island Constabulary said that in the early stages of an investigation to determine what happened, he contacted the Naval Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).

“Officers are making a search after a collision with a special hard -bodied swelling boat near Tipner in Portsmouth, which was reported to us shortly after 20:00 on Thursday, August 14th,” The Force said.

“A man from Emsworth in his 60s was pronounced as died at the scene. His family was informed and will be supported by officers.

“A man in his 50s from the West Sussex was taken to hospital, but since then he was discharged.

“In the first stages of an investigation to determine what happened, we are contacting the Naval Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).”
